Find out the best ways to visit Bath.

How to get to Bath

By Car

Visitors from London and the east use the M4 motorway and take Junction 18 for Bath, following the A4 into Bath. If you’re coming from the south west, take the A36 to Bath. If you’re travelling from Birmingham or Manchester, first follow the M5 before turning onto the M4 towards Bath and Bristol.

By Public Transport

Both Hedgemead Court and The Old Smithy Loft are a short walk from the Bath Spa Railway station. If you prefer to get a taxi, it is only a couple of minutes from the station depending on traffic.

In the event you arrive early, before check-in, you can leave your luggage at Cafe Lucca opposite the train station for a small fee and explore Bath while you wait. There are multiple bus routes serving the Bath area.

From Bristol Airport

You can take the A4 bus from Bristol Airport to central Bath, or book a taxi (drive is about 45 minutes). By car you can drive from the airport along the B roads via the A368 – with gorgeous views over the Mendips!

There is free private parking directly outside Hedgemead Court and The Old Smithy Loft. Parking for a second car is available on request for a small fee.

Both properties are extremely handy for town and a gentle stroll through Georgian Bath takes you within 10 minutes’ to Bath Abbey, in the centre of the city.
